Draft Mining and Mineral Policy for Uganda 2016

This new Policy serves as a clear and detailed representation of the Ugandan governments overall objective of improving the international competitiveness of the mineral industry. The Policy seeks to provide the basis for addressing these and other challenges, as well as responding to important government priorities and commitments. Key elements of the new Mining and Mineral Policy include; policy provisions to cater for research development enhancement, local content and value addition, regulation of commercially exploited building minerals, regional and international cooperation, human resource development, promotion and marketing; and promotion of national participation.
